Cassius Marsh Retires As A Seahawk After 3 Seasons

Cassius Marsh retired as a Seahawk on June 10, 2026, returning to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center to end his career with the team that drafted him in the fourth round in 2014. He spent his first three NFL seasons in Seattle before moving on to seven other teams.

Cassius Marsh Returns To Seattle

Marsh said Seattle was where his career began and where he believes his best years came. “This is where it all started for me, where the dream began, and I see as my best years in the league,” he said Thursday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

He also pointed to the people around him in those seasons as the reason he wanted to finish where he started. “Just my teammates, and the organization was just so good for me. So, I felt like this was the spot to come back to.”

Seattle Seasons, Then Seven Stops

Marsh played for the Seahawks in 2014, 2015 and 2016 after Seattle took him in the fourth round. After leaving, he spent time with the Patriots, 49ers, Cardinals, Jaguars, Colts, Steelers and Bears before his last season in 2021.

That path left him with a career that stretched far beyond his first stop, but his final move brought him back to the place he tied to his earliest success. He said he needed time before making that choice public. “I was still bitter from my time being over and needing some time to heal from that so that I can come and celebrate,” Marsh said. “It was a good time to heal and focus on my business and now I'm here.”

Seattle’s June 10 Schedule

The retirement came on a busy day around the Seahawks organization, with players and coaches spending the afternoon on a community service day in the Seattle area. For Marsh, the date closed the loop on a career that began in 2014 and ended with a return to the building where it started.
