Metro West Fire Department Rescues 4 from Sky Screamer Six Flags St Louis

Four riders on the sky screamer six flags st louis ride were rescued Thursday evening after getting stuck about 120 feet in the air at Six Flags St. Louis. The Metro West Fire Department said all four had been safely brought down by around 8:30 p.m.

Metro West Fire Department Response

The department said it and other fire departments were responding to Six Flags early Thursday evening during an active rescue. The riders remained safe during the effort, and the department said there was no risk of them falling.

That response followed a problem with the park’s normal procedure to get people down, which First Alert 4 was told did not work. The ride involved was the Sky Screamer, a swing ride at the park.

Six Flags St. Louis Statement

Six Flags said it had a park representative with the guests while the rescue continued. “We have a park representative currently up with the guests; we are doing all we can to keep them comfortable during this process to get them safely unloaded,” the park said in a statement given to First Alert 4.

The statement shows the park was still working with responders while the riders were held in place above ground. By around 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, the fire department said all four had been rescued safely.
