BMW Reveals New Bmw M3 Preview at Le Mans With Four-Motor Setup
BMW has shown the new bmw m3 in public for the first time, revealing the M Concept Neue Klasse during Le Mans 24h weekend. The concept is the company’s first official glimpse of what an electric M3 will eventually look like, and it points to a production model likely due toward the end of 2026 or early 2027.
BMW M Concept Neue Klasse
The concept arrives after BMW’s Neue Klasse era of cars began with the iX3 SUV and i3 saloon. This one extends that same direction into M territory, with yellow lighting that BMW wants to use more often on future true M cars to separate them from regular BMW models.
BMW said the yellow lighting is meant to reference the M Hybrid V8 racing in WEC and its own GT racing cars. Some of the body panel elements are made from natural fibres, part of BMW’s effort to reduce its reliance on carbonfibre.
Four motors, one M3
Under the skin, BMW says the electric M3 will use a four-motor power configuration. M Dynamic Performance Control will act as the car’s dynamic brain, and the setup could deliver power figures that reach well into four figures.
The company also says the system will provide adjustable torque vectoring for tyre-shredding slides. That is paired with a 100kWh battery pack and 800-volt electronics for quick charging times.
Inside the concept
The cabin looks very familiarly like the i3 saloon, but BMW has fitted race-spec seats with five-point harnesses. The battery has been optimized for performance car purposes and, BMW says, has better durability under high stress.
For buyers tracking the real car, the important change is that BMW has now shown the outline of its electric M3 future rather than keeping it hidden behind generic teaser language. The concept gives a clear read on the direction: four motors, an 800-volt architecture, and a performance-focused battery package aimed at the next production M3.
