Ibrahimovic backs Amorim as Milan edge closer to Glasner

ibrahimovic is backing Ruben Amorim, but Milan have already reached an agreement with Oliver Glasner as the club’s search for Massimiliano Allegri’s replacement keeps moving. The decision is still not done, and Gerry Cardinale will make the final call after more rounds of talks in the coming days.

Glasner Ahead at Milan

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Glasner has agreed to a two-year contract with Milan worth between €3m and €4m a season, plus an option for a further campaign. He remains the club’s primary option, and he also turned down an offer from Feyenoord.

That leaves Milan with a preferred candidate in place, but not a final appointment. The club has continued talks with other names while the coaching search stays tied to a bigger structural decision around the technical director role.

Amorim and Jaissle in Play

Milan also met with Matthias Jaissle, who coaches Al Ahli and carries a €6m release clause. Ruben Amorim has been part of the process too, and he has the support of RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mauricio Pochettino, the USMNT coach, met with Milan in the past weeks as well. Ralf Rangnick remains the top choice for technical director, and he has identified Jaissle and Glasner as ideal coaches for the club.

Cardinale Holds the Final Word

Cardinale wants to be more involved in the decision-making than he has been in the past, and he will personally pick the new coach. His priority is to appoint the technical director before naming the next man on the bench, which keeps the coach search linked to a broader leadership reshuffle.

For now, Glasner sits closest to the job, Amorim has Ibrahimovic’s backing, and Milan still have more talk ahead before the owner makes the call.
