King Charles Leads Trooping Colour Parade; William Kate Trooping Colour Video Shows Balcony Scene

King Charles III marked his official birthday at Trooping the Colour in central London as crowds gathered for the ceremony, and the william kate trooping colour video captured the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children beside him. The parade ended with a Red Arrows flypast watched from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The King travelled in an open-top carriage from Buckingham Palace down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, inspected the troops and later led his guards back to the palace. Trooping the Colour brought more than 1,400 members of the armed forces, 200 horses and 400 musicians into the centre of the capital.

Alongside the King and Queen Camilla were Prince William, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and their children. The balcony moment showed Charles standing with William and Prince George as the aircraft flew overhead, while Prince Louis was on his best behaviour. The scene also placed the family at the centre of a ceremony that is built around the annual military display in London.

Charles wore the Grenadier Guards uniform and 10 medals. Queen Camilla wore a red Grenadier Guards uniform dress designed by Fiona Clarke.

Grenadier Guards at Horse Guards

This year's trooped colours were those of the Grenadier Guards. Second Lt Alec Goschen served as the Ensign carrying the flag of the Grenadier Guards on Horseguards, while the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh rode in the military parade.

After the parade, the King received a royal salute and a 41-gun salute fired by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. He then conducted an inspection of the troops before leading his guards back to Buckingham Palace, where a further salute took place.

King Charles and royal continuity

The ceremony is one of the biggest royal and military displays of the year, and this year's appearance placed Charles, Camilla and the Wales family in view together on the palace balcony. The image tied the official birthday ceremony to the military pageant on The Mall and Horse Guards Parade, with the Guards and mounted units moving through central London under the King's review.

For anyone following the william kate trooping colour video, the clearest takeaway is the public setting of the royal family at a ceremony built on military precision, with the balcony appearance, parade route and flypast all folded into one day in central London.
