Pokémon Company Reveals Pikachu Promo Cards 2026 for San Francisco Event

The Pokémon Company revealed pikachu promo cards 2026 alongside other event merchandise for the Pokémon World Championships and PokémonXP in San Francisco. The drop includes three promo cards, with distribution split between competitors, attendees, and local Play! Pokémon events.

San Francisco Reveal

Three cards are in the set: Paradise Resort, Pikachu, and Rayquaza. Paradise Resort goes only to players who compete at the event, while the Pikachu card is set for the show itself and for local events run by Play! Pokémon.

A stamped Rayquaza card will be given to all attendees of the Pokémon World Championships and PokémonXP. That wider allocation makes it the most accessible of the three, while the Paradise Resort card stays locked to the competitive field.

Welcome Kit Contents

The Welcome Kit goes to players who sign up to compete and includes a backpack, a playmat, sleeves, a T-shirt, a hat, and more World Championships-themed merchandise. Jordan reported the reveal at the end of the North America International Championships, tying the merch drop directly to the event calendar players are already watching.

Two Pikachu plush were also shown: one themed to the Pokémon World Championships, with Pikachu wearing a crown and a cape, and one themed to PokémonXP in a space suit. The split matters because the two events are running together but serving different audiences, with the World Championships strictly competitive and PokémonXP built around fan activities such as panels and signings.

First PokémonXP Run

This year marks the first PokémonXP event, and The Pokémon Company is positioning it as an official fan convention alongside the championships. For attendees, the practical takeaway is simple: the event-exclusive cards and merchandise are already being sorted by access level before San Francisco opens on August 28-20.

Players planning to compete have the clearest path to the most complete set of gear through the Welcome Kit, while general attendees can still target the stamped Rayquaza card. The reveal turns the August event from a generic meet-up into a clearly tiered release, with the company using the championships to separate player rewards from attendee merchandise.
