Paige Bueckers Listed Probable for Wings-Aces in Las Vegas
Paige Bueckers is listed as probable for the Dallas Wings' game against the Las Vegas Aces tonight after missing the previous game with an ankle injury. Dallas goes to Las Vegas with one of its top scorers trending toward a return after sitting out once.
The Wings already beat the Aces 95-87 in late May, then outscored them 50-34 after halftime. Dallas also had three players score 20 or more points in that win, so Bueckers’ availability gives the Wings a chance to keep the same pace against the defending champions.
Bueckers Injury Update
Bueckers went down awkwardly after a rebound in the second quarter against the Phoenix Mercury on June 11, then returned quickly after getting taped up. She finished that game with a season-high 31 points in Dallas' 85-70 victory, but missed the following game against the Portland Fire because of her ankle.
Jose Fernandez tried to manage the bigger picture after that Portland game. “It’s a long year …Paige wants to be on the floor tonight (against Portland), but the best thing for her longevity, for her career, for the franchise is her making sure we take care of her and she takes care of her body.”
Dallas Injury Report
Dallas still had other names on the injury report, with Odyssey Sims out while recovering from an ankle injury sustained against the Sparks on June 5. Chennedy Carter was unavailable, and Las Vegas listed Dana Evans as still returning from a left leg injury and not yet making her season debut.
That leaves the Wings with a shorter margin for error in a rematch that already tilted their way once. If Bueckers plays, Dallas has another ball-handler and another scorer to lean on against a Las Vegas group that still has pieces missing.
