Jack Whitehall says Elsie interrupted wedding halfway through in April
jack whitehall said his two-year-old daughter Elsie ran into his wedding to Roxy Horner halfway through in April at Euridge Manor in Wiltshire. The moment cut through a service attended by more than 100 guests, including James Corden and Jamie Redknapp, and turned the ceremony into a family event as much as a public one.
Euridge Manor in April
Whitehall said, “She ran in and interrupted it halfway through” after Elsie joined the ceremony. He added, “It was very sweet. I was like: 'Do you want to go and sit back down?’ She went: 'No!’”
The wedding followed six years together for Whitehall and Horner, and the couple’s dog, Coco, even served as ring bearer in a little dress. One small mistake slipped into the day too: Horner’s wedding band was put on the wrong finger, then fixed during the photographs.
Three stag dos, one honeymoon
Whitehall said fatherhood has already changed how he works. “I'm such a walkover,” he said of Elsie, before adding, “Putty in her hands.” He also said, “You just have to be a little bit more selective about the work you take on.”
That shift sits alongside a busier calendar. Whitehall has joined the cast of Virginia Woolf's Night and Day, which is scheduled for UK and Irish cinemas on 19 June. He also said, “I went on three stag dos, so I think there has to be more than one honeymoon,” and described the post-wedding trip on the Orient Express from Venice to Paris as lovely, after one of those stag dos left him with “selective amnesia.”
The wedding story works because it has scale and friction: more than 100 guests, a high-profile guest list, a child who refused to leave the frame, and a groom already making work decisions around family life. For Whitehall, the headline detail is not the ceremony itself but how quickly Elsie took control of it.
