Chevrolet unveils 2027 Silverado with two new V-8 engines
Chevrolet has unveiled the 2027 silverado with two all-new V-8 engines, revised styling and a larger standard screen setup. The redesigned Silverado 1500 arrives as the newest generation of Chevrolet’s full-size pickup, and the changes reach every trim level in the lineup.
The truck now comes with a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster and a 16.3-inch center touchscreen on every model. Chevrolet also said the touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving buyers the same standard cabin technology across the seven-trim lineup.
2027 Silverado trim levels
Chevrolet will offer the truck in Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country trims. The company will keep three cab styles and three bed lengths in the range, so the update changes the truck’s hardware and presentation without narrowing the body configurations.
Under the hood, the 2027 Silverado keeps the 2.7-liter turbo four and the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter straight-six. The 2.7-liter now pairs with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission. The bigger change is the arrival of two new small-block engines: a 5.7-liter and a 6.6-liter, which replace the old 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s.
Chevy Silverado cabin updates
Chevrolet gave the new truck more cohesive bodywork and more pronounced fenders than the outgoing model. Its LED headlights can play animations to greet owners, a detail that adds to the redesigned front end without changing the truck’s core layout.
Inside, higher trims can add an 11.5-inch touchscreen for the front passenger, a head-up display and a digital rearview mirror. The ZR2 cabin adds Torch Red accents tracing the seatbelt edges, and the 2027 Silverado is the first GM vehicle with exotic forged carbon interior trim.
2027 Silverado lineup
Chevrolet introduced an all-new Silverado eight years before this debut, and the company is now using the 2027 model to reset both styling and powertrain choices. That leaves buyers with a broader engine range than before, plus standard screen equipment that now starts on every version of the truck.
