Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Market Tilts Toward Miami Heat
giannis antetokounmpo remains the center of the trade market, and Miami is still seen as the front-runner if Milwaukee decides to move him. The Bucks are pushing for clarity from several suitors before they make a final call, with a deal structure that could also help them recover draft assets lost in 2023.
Miami Heat Package
The Heat were aggressive at the February trade deadline and league sources said they believed a deal would get done before Milwaukee backed away. Miami’s likely package would include Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakučionis, and draft capital.
Miami can offer up to three first-round picks, which keeps it in the center of the conversation even as other teams stay involved. Herro’s unfollowing of the Heat on Instagram this week, along with his cryptic social media posts, added another layer to the noise around a possible move.
Milwaukee Seeks Clarity
Milwaukee is asking the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic what they would be willing to offer before making a final decision. The Portland Trail Blazers are also known to be interested, and some teams are urging the Bucks to bring the final terms of an acceptable deal to them instead of going back and forth.
That push matters because the Bucks would more likely be involved as a third team if they have their way, a path that could help them regain control of some of the picks they gave up in the Damian Lillard trade in 2023. There is also a sense of distrust among some teams over how Milwaukee handled trade discussions at the deadline.
June 23 Draft Pressure
Jimmy Haslam said in early May that he wanted resolution before the June 23 draft. Jon Horst had already opened the door to any team that wanted to make a pitch for the two-time MVP before the deadline, and Antetokounmpo stayed in Milwaukee in the days leading up to it.
The market has moved from speculation to active positioning, with Miami still sitting at the front of the pack and Milwaukee trying to force real offers out of multiple teams. If the Bucks move at all, the shape of the deal may matter as much as the player they send out.
