Dino Zoff Backs Emi Martinez for Juventus Move
Dino Zoff has thrown his support behind the rumors linking emi martinez with Juventus, saying the Aston Villa goalkeeper would be a positive addition. The former Juventus goalkeeper said the Argentine’s record in England and with his national team makes the talk easy to understand.
Zoff’s Juventus endorsement
“En la Juve lo que cuenta es el resultado y los jugadores son libres de hacer lo que quieran en el campo, siempre que aporten a la causa,” Zoff told Tuttosport. He added, “Da igual si un portero es excéntrico o tímido: lo importante es que sepa parar como Dios manda.”
He finished the point plainly: “Y el argentino ha demostrado que sabe hacerlo en la Premier League y con su selección. Me ilusiona.”
Martínez at Aston Villa
Martínez, 33, is under contract at Aston Villa until June 2029, which gives the club leverage even as his name circles another major move. He joined Villa from Arsenal before the 2020-21 season, stayed when he had been linked with Manchester United ahead of the 2025-26 season, and then helped Villa win the Europa League.
His Premier League numbers since arriving make the interest easy to frame. Martínez has 60 clean sheets, 625 saves and five penalty saves in the competition, and only Ederson, Alisson, David Raya and Jordan Pickford have more clean sheets in that span. He is tied with Lukasz Fabianski on five penalty saves.

Juventus already has options in goal, but not the same profile Zoff was praising. Michele Di Gregorio was the starter this season and kept 13 clean sheets in 30 Serie A matches, while Mattia Perin played nine league matches.
That leaves Martínez as a target discussed against a real internal benchmark, not just name value. Zoff’s comments push the conversation toward whether Juventus wants a keeper with a stronger save record in England and the sort of profile he believes can handle the club’s demands.
