Dan Bewley Rules Out Return Date After May 20 Crash
dan bewley cannot put a date on his racing return after crashing on May 20 and breaking a femur and compressing a vertebra in his back. The Great Britain racer has already missed three Speedway GP events and will miss another in Wroclaw on Saturday.
Bewley’s May 20 crash
Bewley went down in the opening race of Region Varde’s Speedwayligaen match at home to Slangerup. The crash left him with two injuries that have kept him out of the Speedway GP schedule, and his absence now stretches to four meetings when the Wroclaw round is added.
“Hello everybody, I just want to check in and talk about my physio. I have been training and everything has been going pretty well. I am just taking it day by day at the moment.”
“It’s tough to say when I will be back. I am just taking it day by day and everything is going well.”
Wroclaw without Bewley
The update was posted in a video on Wroclaw’s social media channels, and Bewley said the work around his recovery is moving forward. He said it has been nice supporting the rest of the team and that he was looking forward to coming to the stadium last Sunday for the postponed Gorzow match.
“It has been nice supporting the rest of the team. They had a good meeting in Czestochowa. I was looking forward to coming to the stadium last Sunday (for the postponed Gorzow match), but I will be there for the next meeting.”
He also said he will be at the stadium for the next meeting, but not on the track. “It has been good watching. Obviously, I would rather be racing, but hopefully I will be back soon, and thank you everyone for the support.”
For Wroclaw, the practical effect is simple: its home rider is still unavailable for the DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland, and Bewley is still in a day-by-day recovery cycle. Until he can race again, the clearest marker is his own timeline — none yet.
