Billy Frampton Extends With Collingwood Football Club Through 2028

Billy Frampton has signed a new two-year deal with collingwood football club, keeping him in black and white until at least the end of 2028. The defender has become a regular part of the backline since arriving ahead of the 2023 season, and the extension gives Collingwood another season-long fixture to build around.

Leppitsch backs Frampton

Justin Leppitsch said Frampton has been “a consistent contributor to our side over the past four seasons and we are pleased to have him commit for a further two years,” adding that he is “a key part of our backline, with his height and strength allowing him to take on opposition key forwards week in, week out.”

Leppitsch also said, “Billy is a much-loved member of our Club and we look forward to seeing him in the black and white for two more years.”

Frampton’s 2026 run

The new contract lands after a strong start to 2026, when Frampton has played every game for Collingwood. Across those matches, he is averaging seven spoils per game and 2.2 intercept marks per game, numbers that point to the role he has settled into in defence.

His Opening Round outing against St Kilda was his season high for involvement. He recorded 19 disposals and 14 kicks in that game.

Collingwood’s backline piece

Frampton has now played 87 AFL games, including 63 for Collingwood, and he was part of the club’s 2023 Premiership team. That combination of experience and continuity is what makes the extension a straightforward one for Collingwood: he has already shown he can handle the role across a full season and has stayed available every week in 2026.

For Collingwood, the deal removes one more contract decision from the table and keeps a premiership defender in place through the end of 2028.
