Evenson Dumerlus Rcmp Charges Follow Snapchat Threat Against Trump
Evenson Dumerlus rcmp charges became public after the RCMP officer from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu was charged with uttering threats over an alleged Snapchat video aimed at U.S. President Donald Trump. The 34-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
RCMP Federal Policing Eastern Region
The RCMP Federal Policing Eastern Region alleges that Dumerlus posted the video on Snapchat while deployed on G7 security operations last summer. Police say another RCMP officer reported the video, and Dumerlus was removed from his duties the same day the post appeared.
Kananaskis G7 Summit
Trump attended the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alta., from June 15-17, 2025. The alleged threat links a domestic criminal charge in Canada to a visit by a sitting U.S. president, with the accused serving in a federal police role at the time.
Court appearance July 30
The allegation has not been tested in court. On July 30, Dumerlus is scheduled to appear in court, where the case will move from police allegations to the first public step in the legal process.
