Kaitlyn Chen Scores 15 Off Bench in Valkyries Win
kaitlyn chen scored 15 points off the bench, and the Golden State Valkyries beat the Dallas Wings 91-80 at home on Wednesday night. The win was Golden State’s fourth straight, and Chen’s second-quarter burst helped turn a nine-point deficit into control.
Chen Sparks Golden State
Chen scored seven of her nine first-half points in the second quarter. That stretch helped fuel a 19-0 run and pushed the Valkyries into a lead they carried to halftime.
Golden State outscored Dallas 27-7 in the second period and went to the locker room ahead by 11. Chen did not need heavy minutes to shape the game; her scoring came in the middle of the Valkyries’ sharpest swing.
Williams and Burton Add Pressure
Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with 25 points, while Veronica Burton added 11 points and eight assists. Golden State also made 12 of 25 3-point attempts and shot 46% from the field, numbers that kept the Wings from fully closing the gap after halftime.
Dallas kept pushing. The Wings got within two points in the fourth quarter, but Kaila Charles hit big shots down the stretch for Golden State to steady the finish.
Dallas Push Falls Short
Paige Bueckers finished with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting, and Azzi Fudd and Arike Ogunbowale led the late Dallas push. The Valkyries’ defense held that surge long enough for the 91-80 result to stand.
For Golden State, the night extended a four-game winning streak and showed how quickly the bench can change the shape of a game when the second unit finds a scoring lane.
