Graham Price, the Lead Customer Officer for National Express, said: “For more than 50 years, National Express has been at the heart of coach travel in the UK, connecting people with hundreds of destinations through accessible, reliable and great-value journeys.” He added: “We’re incredibly proud of our teams who work hard to deliver the best experience and make a positive impact on our passengers every day.”

Coach Heroes nominations

Price said the company wants people to share stories about individuals who make coach travel memorable for all the right reasons. The examples given include a driver who took extra time to assist a passenger and a customer service team member who provided calm, reassuring support.

The nomination page is National Express says the best nominations will receive four free return coach tickets valid anywhere across its network, while colleagues selected as official Coach Heroes will receive a special celebratory gift.

Frontline National Express

The campaign is built around frontline staff who keep journeys running smoothly and keep customers smiling. That gives passengers a direct way to name the people who helped them, rather than leaving recognition inside the company.

The unresolved part is how the official Coach Heroes will be chosen from the nominations. National Express has set out the reward and the entry route, but not the selection criteria or the number of colleagues who will ultimately receive the celebratory gift.

UK coach travel

Price framed the campaign as part of a wider network that serves hundreds of destinations across the UK. For passengers, the practical step is simple: submit a nomination online if a driver or customer service colleague made a noticeable difference to the trip.

For National Express, the campaign turns ordinary journey feedback into a recognition scheme with a prize attached, which should push more passengers to put names to the service they remember.
