Peter Hickman will make his Southern 100 Road Races debut at this year’s meeting, lining up on the 4.25-mile Billown Course for the first time. The 14-time Isle of Man TT winner arrives with a busy road-racing schedule behind him and a first start at Southern 100 ahead of him.

Hickman’s Billown Course first

He said he is “really excited” to compete in his first ever Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races and to learn the Motor Isle Billown Course. Hickman also said the longer the season goes on, the fitter and stronger he is feeling.

He will ride the Monster Energy BMW Motorrad by 8TEN Racing BMW M1000RR in the Superbike class. In the Supersport category, he will switch to the Swan Racing by PHR Performance bike, which he said will be “great fun around the fast and flowing 4.25-mile course.”

Southern 100 grid strength

The entry gives the Southern 100 another headline name, but it also drops Hickman into a grid that already includes Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop. Dominic Herbertson, Jamie Coward, Mike Browne, Paul Jordan, Rob Hodson, Nathan Harrison and Conor Cummins are also set to attend.

That mix matters because Hickman is not arriving off a quiet run of form. At this year’s TT, he secured four podiums, including second-place finishes in the Superbike TT and Senior TT races. He also won the opening Supertwin race at the North West 200.

8TEN Racing and July

The backdrop is less tidy. Hickman is entering the Southern 100 debut after the 8TEN Racing team withdrew from the remainder of the 2026 British Superbike Championship season, a move that leaves his road-racing focus shifted away from that series.

George Peach said he was “absolutely delighted” that Hickman had chosen to make his Southern 100 debut this year. Peach also said Hickman is one of the biggest names in road racing, and that fans will be excited to see him tackle the unique challenge of the Motor Isle Billown Course for the first time. The 2026 Southern 100 Road Races take place from July 6 to July 9, and Hickman’s first appearance adds another major name to a meeting that already looks deep in front-running talent.
