Sebastian Beccacece Guides Ecuador Into 7 p.m. CT Kansas City Match — Germany National Football Coach

Sebastian Beccacece takes Ecuador into Saturday night with the Germany National Football Coach angle still hanging over Curacao’s start. Ecuador and Curacao meet at Kansas City Stadium at 7 p.m. CT, and Kansas City is hosting its second match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The timing matters because Kansas City Stadium is in the middle of a six-game tournament run. Beccacece has built Ecuador around a defense that allowed just two goals in 12 qualifier matches, but that same team opened the World Cup with a 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire in Philadelphia.

Kansas City Stadium gates and shuttles

Fans who are headed to the match have a different arrival plan than the one they may have expected. KC2026 announced that stadium direct shuttles from North Kansas City and the Oak Park Mall have sold out for the day, while ConnectKC26 buses remain available for riders with match tickets.

Parking must be pre-purchased through the Official FIFA World Cup 26 Parking website. KC2026 also moved cars and buses to an earlier entry time of 3 p.m., one hour before stadium gates open at 4 p.m., to help with transportation concerns that arose Tuesday night.

Curacao and Ecuador pressure

Curacao arrives with a steep numbers problem after a 7-1 loss to Germany in Houston on June 14. It is the smallest country ever to qualify for the World Cup, with a population of 155,900, and that opening result left little margin for another slow start.

Ecuador brings a different kind of pressure. Under Beccacece, the team finished second in CONMEBOL qualifying, and the defensive record was sharp enough to keep most opponents off the board; the issue now is converting that structure into points after the 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire.

Lot O and entry rules

Rideshare passengers are directed to Lot O, and FIFA is asking fans to arrive early for security screening, ticket scanning, and entry before kickoff. All FIFA stadiums follow a clear bag policy, with approved bags made of plastic, vinyl, or PVC material and limited to 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches.

Small clutch purses or wallets about the size of a hand are allowed even if they are not clear, as long as they are no larger than 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches. Fans can also bring small flags, banners, and posters made of fire-resistant material if they do not exceed 2m x 1.5m, but larger items and instruments need advance approval.

For the people trying to get into Kansas City Stadium, the night starts long before the 7 p.m. CT kickoff. The practical choices are already narrowed: use ConnectKC26 if you have a match ticket, arrive early if you are parking, or plan for Lot O if you are using rideshare.
