The Dallas Wings entered Sky vs wings with Alanna Smith and Alysha Clark listed as questionable and Odyssey Sims ruled out ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Chicago Sky. That leaves Dallas sorting through three availability calls before a nationally televised WNBA game at College Park Center.
Smith And Clark On Report
Smith carried an illness designation, while Clark was dealing with a left leg issue. Both were placed in the questionable column, so Dallas had to wait on whether either frontcourt piece would be available at tip-off. The Wings had leaned on Jessica Shepard and Awak Kuier in the frontcourt lately, which gave the report added weight for a roster already carrying uncertainty.
Smith’s season line helps show why her status drew attention. She had appeared in 14 games and was averaging 3.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. If she was cleared, Dallas could keep more size available around the rim; if not, the rotation would have to absorb another absence without a like-for-like replacement from the available report.
Odyssey Sims Out Again
Odyssey Sims was sidelined by a left ankle injury and set to miss her sixth consecutive game. She had appeared in 10 games and was averaging 6.0 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, so her absence removed a guard who had been part of Dallas’s early-season rotation.
The Wings entered at 9-6 after a 91-80 loss at the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday. They had beaten the Chicago Sky 99-89 in Chicago on May 20, and that game was their first regular-season win over Chicago since 2024 and their first road win at Wintrust Arena since 2022. The rematch at College Park Center was scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and set to air on CBS.
That left Dallas with a simple but uneasy setup: one guard out, two players questionable, and a home game against Chicago that could tilt on who was available when the ball went up.
