Monsanna Torbert Draws Two Sunday Predictions For Michigan Football

Michigan football picked up two Sunday predictions for 2027 four-star cornerback Monsanna Torbert, flipping momentum toward the Wolverines after his official visit to Ann Arbor for Victor’s Weekend. The move comes with his commitment announcement set for early next month.

Torbert’s Sunday shift

Ethan McDowell and Allen Trieu of On3/Rivals both placed predictions for Michigan Football on Sunday. Trieu wrote, “Based on the intel we are receiving about where things are trending with Torbert, I have made a prediction for the Wolverines.”

Torbert is a 2027 four-star cornerback from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rivals’ Industry Rankings list him as the No. 13 corner and No. 91 overall prospect in the class. He checks in at 5-foot-10.5 and 173 pounds.

Ohio State lost ground

That prediction change followed a week in which Torbert took an official visit to Ohio State before going to Ann Arbor for Victor’s Weekend. Trieu added, “Ohio State was the previous Rivals Prediction Machine leader, but this Victors Weekend has shifted things.”

He also wrote, “Of course, Michigan was already making a move before that to get the visit, but now we see them as the clear leader.” Those three lines capture the entire swing: Ohio State had been in front, then the weekend visit changed the forecast.

Michigan Football’s secondary picture

Trieu’s forecast matters because Michigan Football is trying to turn a prediction into a commitment from one of Ohio’s higher-rated defensive backs. Charles Powers described Torbert as an athletic two-way playmaker with high level instincts that project well as a defensive back.

If Torbert chooses the Wolverines, he would join a secondary picture that already includes Darius Johnson, Blake Jenkins, Tavares Harrington and Charles Woodson Jr. That is the roster context behind the prediction shift, and it is why the early-next-month decision now carries more weight for Michigan than it did before the weekend.

Torbert’s path to this point also explains the opening Ohio State had to close. He had once been committed to the Indiana Hoosiers before backing off that pledge ahead of official visit season, then worked through visits to Ohio State and Michigan before his announcement window opened.

For Michigan, the practical next step is simple: keep the momentum from Victor’s Weekend until Torbert makes his call early next month. For Ohio State, the forecast has already moved behind, and the only thing left on the calendar is whether Torbert makes the prediction swing real.
