Lidl Portable Air Conditioning Unit returns on 25 June for £149

Lidl’s portable air conditioning unit returns to the middle aisle on 25 June, with the Tronic 3-in-1 Air Conditioner priced at £149. The Lidl portable air conditioning unit will be sold only in-store, giving shoppers a narrow window to find one before stock runs out.

It has three operating modes, air conditioning, fan cooling and dehumidifying, plus two fan speeds and transport wheels. Lidl is also selling a £14.99 air cooler, but the Tronic model is the one pitched as a fuller cooling option.

The timing is tight. Temperatures are set to reach record highs, while portable air conditioners are practically all sold out. Lidl’s return of the Tronic model lands in that gap, where demand is already outpacing supply and cheaper units are harder to find.

The current unit also looks very similar to the portable air conditioner Lidl dropped last summer. That earlier model worked best for rooms between 30 and 45m³, and it could collect up to 1.5L in a room that was 30 degrees with 80% relative humidity.

Amazon and Argos

The comparison set by the current market is much higher. The Dreo 318s Portable Air Conditioner costs £399.99 at Amazon, the DREO 12000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner costs £599 at Amazon, and the Bush 9K Portable Air Conditioner costs £375 at Argos.

The Bush 9K Portable Air Conditioner was the last air con unit in stock at Argos, which gives a sense of how quickly the category is moving. For shoppers, the practical step is simple: if the £149 Lidl unit is the target, the only route is an in-store visit on 25 June.
