Jürgen Klopp turned the WM broadcast into a watch spot on Germany’s 7:1 win over Curaçao. He wore an IWC Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month Edition „50 Years Aquatimer“ worth 50,000 euros. The model is a limited collector’s piece, not a regular Aquatimer.
Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Müller
Klopp appeared alongside Thomas Müller during the broadcast, and the 58-year-old drew attention immediately because the watch on his wrist was the special edition introduced for the 50th anniversary of the line in 2017. It was limited to 50 examples and was sold out at launch.
The contrast is stark. The watch looks like a practical sports piece, with a digital calendar, a 49-millimeter case, ten-bar water resistance and a Ceratanium case, but it sits in a luxury bracket because the edition is rare and the price starts at 50,000 euros. Its movement has 474 parts and 51 jewels.
Regular Aquatimer pricing
That price stands well above the regular Aquatimer range, which currently runs from 6,500 euros to 11,700 euros. The rubber strap alone is listed at 280 euros, a small number beside the full watch but another sign of how the line is priced in separate layers.
Klopp has been seen regularly with the limited Aquatimer since 2020, so the broadcast did not show a one-off pickup for the camera. Whether he owns the watch personally or is wearing it in another capacity is not explained, but the model’s scarcity already does the work for collectors and viewers who noticed it.
