when does Love Island come out? On Love Island USA, Casa Amor returned on Sunday and Monday with a record 18 bombshells, then Monday night's episode cut six of the 12 male newcomers loose. The result is a faster turnover than last season and a sharper test for the couples still standing in Season 8.
Tierra Davis, 25, a nanny from Los Angeles, said she already has her sights set on KC and wants to "come and get my man." That kind of direct targeting is the point of Casa Amor, but the numbers here are the story: 18 arrivals is a heavier influx than the twist usually delivers, and half of the male newcomers were gone by the end of the night.
Six men out, six still in
Six of the 12 male bombshells were dumped during Monday night's episode after the female Islanders chose which six would stay. Corey Sawyer Jr., Gal Tshnieder, and Dylan Wrona were among the men remaining in the competition, which leaves the lineup split cleanly down the middle after one episode of decisions.
Only two men were dumped in the aftermath of Casa Amor last season, so this year's cut was far steeper. Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe both appeared to be dumped last year before making a comeback and finishing as runners-up, a reminder that Monday night's exit does not automatically settle a contestant's season.
Alannah Keyser and the girls
Alannah Keyser, 21, a student from Miami, said she is "definitely going in for the kill" and warned the boys they "don't know what's coming." Amora Cacheé, 21, also from Miami, put her approach even more plainly: "If I see something I want, I go get it."
Jaiden Bacciocco, 22, who recently graduated from Arizona State University, said some Islanders have gotten "a little too comfortable" in their current couples. Parmida Keshani, 27, a personal trainer from San Antonio, Texas, said, "They need a little bit of spice, and that's why I'm here."
Casa Amor pressure on KC
Sydney Eugene, 25, a medical assistant in cardiology from Naples, Fla., said, "It's pretty much my job to steal hearts. I'm a baddie, and I'm here to take someone's man." Tierra's approach toward KC gives Monday night's episode a clean, immediate target: one newcomer has already named the person she wants, and the villa has already shown it will move quickly on weak links.
That leaves the season with a simple next-step question: which six male bombshells were dumped during Monday night's episode, and whether any of them will re-enter the villa later in Season 8. The show has already shown that a Casa Amor exit does not have to be final, and this round's early cull makes that possibility worth watching rather than assuming the door has closed.
