Mayo Vs Cork: Mayo reach semi-finals with 0-23 to 0-18 win

Mayo beat Cork 0-23 to 0-18 in Mayo vs Cork and reached the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals for the first time in five years. The six-point win sent Mayo into the last four of the All-Ireland Championship and ended a long wait for another semi-final place.

Ryan O'Donoghue Seals It

Ryan O'Donoghue provided the late push Mayo needed, first landing a close range free with around five minutes left and then adding another point when Mayo led by six with almost 67 minutes gone. Those scores gave Mayo a clear buffer after Cork had kept the game alive into the closing stages.

Darragh Beirne added his seventh point of the game for Mayo, while Conor Loftus also scored. Mayo kept the ball at the finish and saw out the result without giving Cork another opening.

Brian Hurley And Steven Sherlock

Cork still found a response through Steven Sherlock, who landed a two-point free with around 11 minutes remaining. Brian Hurley also scored after coming on not long before, but Cork's 14 wides left them too much to repair.

That waste meant their late pressure never quite matched the scoreboard. Mayo were the side that finished with control, and the margin held at six points when the final possession was managed out.

Mayo's Long Wait Ends

The result mattered because Mayo had not reached the semi-finals since 2021. This win takes them back into the last four of the championship and leaves them one step closer to the All-Ireland title race.

Another semi-final is also on the programme, with Tyrone and Kerry set for Croke Park at 18:15 BST. For Mayo, though, the immediate story is simpler: they handled Cork in Mayo vs Cork, protected the lead when it narrowed, and earned a return to the semi-finals.
