MSI LoL 2026 will be held at the Daejeon Convention Center's second exhibition hall from April 28 to May 12, giving Daejeon a 16-day stretch with one of League of Legends' biggest events. Eleven teams from six regions will take part, and Hanwha Life e-Sports and T1 will represent Korea.

The tournament will move through play-in stage, bracket stage, and final. Daejeon City expects the event to be broadcast live in more than 100 countries, with more than 100 million cumulative viewers watching across the run.

That audience projection sits alongside a more local test. Daejeon City expects more than 80,000 visitors and an economic effect of more than 100 billion won from MSI 2026, turning the event into both a competition and a citywide logistics exercise.

Hanbit Square in Expo Science Park

Daejeon City will operate a Fan Festa at Hanbit Square in Expo Science Park near the Daejeon Convention Center's second exhibition hall, with a champion-themed tunnel, a game arcade, and an LCK 10th anniversary exhibition planned. The city has also recently pulled in the regular season of the Eternal Return Masters Final and the Battleground Mobile Pro Series in 2026, after the 2023 LCK Summer Final was completed in Daejeon from August 18 to 20, 2023.

The open question now is which four additional teams will join Hanwha Life e-Sports and T1 in a field that stretches across six regions. Daejeon is using MSI 2026 to show it can host the competitive side of LoL and still manage the visitor flow, festival space, and spending that come with a global event.
