Federico Chiesa Liverpool Pre-season: Liverpool Want £10-15m for Chiesa

Liverpool have told Federico Chiesa to find a new club this summer, but the winger still plans to join Liverpool pre-season and press his case before anything is finalised. The valuation is set at £10-15m, a clear shift from the position that kept him at the club in January.

Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in the 2024 summer window for around £12.5m, so any sale at the current range would be close to the original outlay. He has also said he wants more regular game time, which is why this pre-season now carries real weight.

Fabrizio Romano On Chiesa

Fabrizio Romano said Chiesa’s current stance is to participate in pre-season with Liverpool and to “play his cards in preseason at Liverpool.” That gives him a short window to show he can still fit the squad plan before the club moves on.

Chiesa made the same point from his side when he said, “I’ve played very little since the start of 2026.” He also said, “I have a great relationship with Liverpool,” and added, “I repeat… I want to play. If I don’t find consistency in the Premier League, I’ll have to look elsewhere.”

January At Liverpool

The winger’s situation has already changed once this year. In January, Liverpool and Slot told him he could not leave because they needed him, partly for numerical reasons, so the club has gone from blocking an exit to inviting bids within the same season.

That reversal matters because Chiesa has been a bit-part player for Liverpool over the past two seasons, and he has said, “I barely played in my first year at Liverpool, and in the last season, very little.” If he stays through pre-season, he will be trying to turn that role into something stronger; if he does not, Liverpool have already put a price on the move.

US Camp And Iraola

Chiesa said he will go on a training camp in the US, then talk to the club and the new manager, Iraola. That is the next practical step for his side of the story, with the club’s asking price already set and his place at Liverpool still under pressure.

Whether he stays after pre-season will come down to that conversation and what he shows before it. For now, Liverpool have made their position clear, and Chiesa is still choosing to fight for a place rather than walk away straight away.
