Viktor Hovland took the solo lead on the 18th hole at TPC River Highlands as Round 3 of the Travelers Championship ended on Saturday. If you are asking where is the Travelers Championship being played, the answer is TPC River Highlands in Connecticut, with the final round set for Sunday morning.
He and Scottie Scheffler traded the lead all afternoon before Hovland separated himself late. That final-hole move reset the board for Sunday, when tee times begin at 8:45 a.m. and gates open at 8:30 a.m.
Hovland and Scheffler Trade Leads
The last stretch belonged to Hovland, but the pressure came from Scheffler all afternoon. The two kept exchanging the lead through Round 3, and the solo advantage changed hands only at the 18th.
That finish gives Sunday a clear target: Hovland starts the final day ahead, and Scheffler stays in range after spending most of Saturday tied to him at the top.
Fans Pack TPC River Highlands
The course had more going on than the leaderboard. The fan zone sits next to the 17th and 18th holes, and fans stayed around despite rain earlier in the afternoon.
Kenny, a fan from Winsted, said, "We come out here. We hang out. We get to see some entertainment with golf and it’s also kind of like hiking" and added, "You get to go to these vendors. It’s a good time out here. It’s family friendly. I think it’s worth coming to." James Furey of Fairfield said, "We just watched golf and then over there we have all these stands" and "They let you play golf games and there’s simulators and you could go putting and you can earn prizes which is really fun. And go Scottie!"
Sunday At TPC
Fans heading back on Sunday have two fixed times to work from: gates open at 8:30 a.m. and tee times start at 8:45 a.m. Parking is first-come, first-served, so anyone arriving late faces the same bottleneck near the entrance that builds quickly as tee times ramp up.
The final round now belongs to Hovland to protect, with Scheffler still close enough to force another change if the scoring turns again on Sunday.
