Gabriel Jesus has admitted he dreams of playing in Italy while Juventus and AC Milan circle a possible summer move. The Arsenal striker also said he does not know what comes next with Arsenal, leaving his future tied to the same transfer talk he has now spoken about publicly.
La Gazzetta dello Sport
“I grew up watching Serie A and dreamed of playing in Italy,” Jesus said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. He added: “Scoring two goals at San Siro against Inter was like making that dream come true. I don’t know my future; I’m working now, and we’ll see what happens with Arsenal.”
That is the clearest public line yet from the 29-year-old, who has been linked with a summer move to Juventus and AC Milan. He did not frame the situation as settled, and he did not close the door on staying at Arsenal either.
Brazil World Cup
Jesus also tied the transfer talk to a more immediate disappointment with Brazil. He said he fully agreed with Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to leave him out of the World Cup squad, adding: “I don’t think I was even that close to getting into the team.”
He put the omission down to form and fitness at the wrong time. “We spoke in January, when I was scoring goals,” Jesus said. “Unfortunately, I didn’t have any minutes at the end of the season, and, to be honest, that’s why I didn’t deserve to be at the World Cup. I understand these situations completely. Everyone has to respect Ancelotti; he is the most successful manager.”
Arsenal and Roberto Firmino
Those comments create a straight line between his club minutes and his national-team place. Jesus said his January form gave him a different outlook, but the lack of minutes at the end of the season changed the picture before the World Cup list was set.
There is also a longer scoring chase sitting underneath the noise. Jesus is four goals away from becoming the all-time leading Brazilian goalscorer in Premier League history, with Roberto Firmino on 82 goals. For Arsenal, that leaves a striker whose next move is still open, but whose words have made the summer debate harder to ignore.
Will Gabriel Jesus actually leave Arsenal for Juventus or AC Milan, or stay in England and keep chasing the record? He has already said what he wants in Italy. Now the next step sits with Arsenal.
