Sixteen Leicester City F.C. players are leaving on June 30 as contracts expire. The first-team reshuffle reaches the club captain, Ricardo Pereira, and it lands as the rebuild begins at King Power Stadium.
Pereira is leaving after eight years in England and 220 appearances for Leicester City. He said goodbye to supporters in the 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers, a final public sign-off before the exits take effect.

Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew are also leaving, along with Jamaal Lascelles after his short-term move in January. Wanya Marcal has gone as well, while Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Aribo, Dujuan Richards and Divine Mukasa have all said goodbye after loan spells.
Jordan James also leaves with numbers behind his case. He was Leicester City’s best player last season, scoring 11 and assisting 4, which gives the departure list a sharper edge than a routine summer clear-out.
Jamaal Lascelles and the short-term spell
Chris Popov has already moved on after a five-year stay ended with a switch to Hartlepool United, and his senior debut came in August 2024 under Steve Cooper in the Carabao Cup. Jahmari Lindsay has signed for Kings Lynn, while Toby Onanaye has put pen to paper with South Shields.
Jake Donohue, Alfie Fisken and Olaoluwa Omobolaji are still looking for new clubs, and contract offers were made to Stevie Bausor, Harry French, Misrad Ali, Bobby Amartey, Silko Thomas, Logan Briggs and Josh King. That leaves the released and retained list from the end of May as the club’s first clear line through the squad before the rebuild properly moves on.
Asmir Begovic and the contract list
Asmir Begovic was in talks over a new contract when Leicester City released its list, so his status sits apart from the players already heading out. The club has now shown where the first cuts are, but the next layer depends on who accepts offers and who finds another move before the summer settles.
For Leicester City, June 30 is the clean break. Sixteen players are out, the captain is among them, and the rebuild starts with more exits than answers.
