Manchester United are reviving their pursuit of Wilfried Ndidi as they search for a Casemiro successor ahead of the new season. Besiktas have put a €8 million valuation on the 29-year-old, who is readily available this summer.
Casemiro left Manchester United after his contract expired at the end of last season. He arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 and helped the club win the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, which leaves the midfield role Ndidi is being linked to squarely in focus.
Ndidi and Old Trafford
Ndidi was linked with Manchester United last summer, when he was keen on leaving Leicester City. That move did not happen, and he ended up at Besiktas instead.
He has made well over 200 appearances for Leicester City, which gives Manchester United a player with Premier League experience if they decide to move from interest to action. If Ndidi were to join, he would become only the second Nigerian player to represent Manchester United after Odion Ighalo.
Besiktas valuation
Last season, Ndidi was one of Besiktas' most influential players. A managerial change has since cast doubt over his future, and Besiktas are willing to listen to offers.
That €8 million figure sets the shape of the deal now. Manchester United are linked with Ndidi, but they are expected to face competition for his signature, while the club also have Victor Osimhen listed as their dream target.
Summer decision
The next move sits with Manchester United, Besiktas, and any other clubs that enter the race. Ndidi is available, the price is fixed at €8 million, and the question is whether Manchester United turn that interest into a formal bid for the Super Eagles captain.
