Joe Jonas used a July 2 episode of Hey Jonas to do something he has mostly avoided: he spoke publicly about Tatiana Gabriela. The Jonas Brothers singer described a date, named her nickname, and turned a private relationship into a brief on-mic moment.
“So we’re sitting there, me and Tati,” he said, before laying out the scene: “We’re having a nice glass of orange wine. Actually, I was having a Guinness. She was having an orange wine, and we were sharing a charcuterie board. It was actually just a pickle board.”
July 2 on Hey Jonas
The podcast exchange gave the clearest public snapshot yet of how Jonas talks about Gabriela. He said a fan asked for a photo while he was on a FaceTime call with Nick Jonas, then he looked around the restaurant and tried to find the right person after hanging up.
He described the mix-up in his own words: “I turned around, and I was like, ‘Excuse me, let’s get that picture now,’” followed by the response, “What?” and then, “I didn’t ask you for a picture.” Jonas said he then corrected course with, “Hey, want to get that picture now?”
Private since late summer
Us Weekly in January reported that Joe Jonas and Tatiana Gabriela began seeing each other at the end of the summer last year. The same source said Gabriela had already met his friends, family and his two daughters with Sophie Turner, which puts the July 2 mention in the middle of an otherwise guarded romance.
That restraint is what gives the podcast comment weight. Jonas had already signaled the relationship after New Year by liking one of Gabriela’s posts and dropping a drooling emoji, then later sharing a photo of a woman’s foot in a high heel nuzzled up to his own shoe and another black-and-white photo booth snap on his Instagram feed. The podcast was the first time he gave the relationship a spoken, on-record scene.
From Sophie Turner to Tati
Jonas and Sophie Turner were married from 2019 to September 2023, announced their split in September 2023, and settled their divorce in September 2024. In June, he also described himself on Hey Jonas as a single dad who coparents with his children’s mother, saying, “I think my children have given me purpose again in my life.”
For readers tracking Jonas’s public profile, the July 2 episode matters because it shows the line he is drawing now: he will talk, but only in fragments. The private date, the orange wine, and the nickname tell the story without opening the rest of it.
