In a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, Diesel said, “I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working.” He added, “Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.”

Instagram and three and a half years

“I just wanted to take a second to … say thank you,” Diesel said, before telling fans, “You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world.” He also said, “You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio, and you’ve been patient with me,” and, “But through it all, one thing I know is, I can feel your support, and that means the world to me.”

The timing gives the franchise a clean runway. The series launched with The Fast and the Furious in 2001, and Fast Forever now sits as the planned end point after 25 years of theatrical momentum and a $7 billion box-office footprint.

NBCUniversal and four TV shows

Diesel has also said NBCUniversal has four TV shows in development from the Fast & Furious world. That keeps the brand alive on TV even as the flagship movie line moves toward its last chapter, a split strategy that turns the finale into an ending for the films rather than a shutdown of the property.

He also said he has been lucky to move into other projects, including Riddick: Furya and Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em for Mattel. For viewers who have followed Dominic Toretto from the start, the practical takeaway is simple: the final film is in motion now, and the clock is already pointed at March 17, 2028.
