Sullivan's Crossing season 5 is already on a 2027 track at CTV, and that schedule comes with a sharper cast picture than before. Scott Patterson will not reprise Sully, while Amalia Williamson says her return depends on timing.
Season 5 was previously renewed, and the timing matters because the series has been moving through its run in a fixed order: Canada first, then The CW, then Netflix in the summer after the cable run wraps. For viewers tracking the show as a weekly cable series and later as a streaming title, that sequence is the part that defines when the next batch of episodes actually lands.
Scott Patterson on Sully
March 2026 brought the clearest break in the cast picture, when Scott Patterson was reported not to be reprising his role before the season 4 premiere. On Instagram, he said, "The creative differences were becoming untenable and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue."
He also wrote, "It's unfortunate that it is now being implied that they moved on from me/Sully when the fact is the complete opposite, and those who sadly already have spoken out are also fully aware of this fact, and yet chose to say otherwise," and added, "I was not intending to make any statement but the fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth as I have always been respectful of those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so dang lucky and blessed to portray and bring to life."
Amalia Williamson's schedule
Amalia Williamson's situation is less final but just as important for season 5 planning. She said, "I don't know," and followed with, "It depends on when we film our second season," before adding, "I don't know. I would love to go back. I love my Sullivan's Crossing family. I miss them."
That uncertainty comes from her filming schedule for You’re Killing Me, which was recently renewed, so the next season may have to work around another production commitment rather than a clean return date. In practical terms, that leaves season 5 with a firm release window but still some open casting math around who can actually be on set when production gets moving.
Maggie, Cal, and Tracy
Season 4 left Maggie and Cal in a better place after a brief breakup, with Cal proposing after the return of Maggie's ex-husband Liam. A social worker then brought Tracy into the story and said her foster parents can no longer care for her, leaving Cal and Maggie facing the possibility of taking care of Tracy.
That setup gives season 5 a ready-made domestic problem instead of another clean reset. The show has already moved from romance and reunion into responsibility, and the 2027 premiere gives CTV room to build the next season around that shift without pretending the cast picture is unchanged.
For now, the clearest read is simple: season 5 is coming in 2027, Patterson is out, and Williamson may still return if the schedule works. The one question that still hangs over the next season is which cast members will officially return for Sullivan's Crossing season 5.
