Illinois Lottery winner takes $1.3 million again after 15 years

An Illinois Lottery player from Illinois won $1.3 million in the June 11 Lucky Day Lotto draw after buying a Quick Pick ticket on a whim. He said it was the second time he had won the same game in 15 years, and the ticket was sold at The Oswego BP in Oswego, Il.

The winning numbers were 1-13-19-27-35, and all five matched his ticket. He told Illinois Lottery officials, “I just stopped by the store for a drink and thought, ‘Why not?,’” and added, “I played a Quick Pick, and it turned out to be a lucky day.”

He said he did not believe the result at first. “I didn’t believe it at first — I asked myself, ‘Am I dreaming?’” he said. “Once I scanned the ticket and realized the numbers matched, reality set in.”

The Oswego BP received a $13,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, equal to 1% of the jackpot. Lucky Day Lotto jackpots start at $100,000, and the game is drawn twice weekly in Illinois.

The winner said the prize will go toward a new home for his family and retirement for him and his wife. He also said, “It’s funny — I actually won a $45,000 prize playing this same game 15 years ago when it was called Little Lotto,” giving this win a rare second chapter.
