Joy Behar said on the Monday, July 6 episode of The View that her unsteady walk is from dizziness, not alcohol. The 83-year-old cohost addressed the reaction on air after viewers noticed she looked off balance.
“I got acupuncture, because I'm dizzy,” she said, then added, “I walk and I'm dizzy. Has anyone noticed, I walk like I'm drunk? I'm not drinking. I don't drink.” The exchange turned a visible on-air concern into a plain explanation, with Behar tying the wobble to treatment rather than anything else.
Alyssa Farah Griffin on stage
Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, “You're escorted at times to your seat,” while Behar pressed the point further with, “Between the Botox, the Ozempic and the acupuncture, I'm, like, full of needles, more than a drug addict.” The line landed as comic relief, but the practical detail was straightforward: she said she had gotten acupuncture because she is dizzy.
Monday's empty chairs
Behar was not originally scheduled to appear, and she stepped in after weather-related travel disruptions sidelined three cohosts. Ana Navarro, Sara Haines and Whoopi Goldberg were out, and Goldberg appeared via video from Sicily after saying she was trying to get back to the United States. Michelle Buteau joined the panel for the full episode alongside Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Paris, London, and back on set
Behar had recently returned from a few weeks in June in Paris and London, where she was performing My First Ex-Husband. Monday’s appearance put her back in the panel mix on a day that needed backup, but the bigger takeaway was simpler: she gave a direct answer to a question viewers had already started asking.
