BonusJet’s pick 3 analysis points to a simple Texas pattern: three Powerball wins since 2003, all landing in February, May or September. Those months do not guarantee anything, but they are the only Texas win dates in the report’s historical review.
Mike Hunter on Powerball timing
Mike Hunter, the casino and bonus ranking expert at BonusJet, said, “This data shows that timing really can play a role in how lottery jackpots are won across the U.S. and Americans should think twice before buying a ticket throughout months such as July,”
The same analysis put Texas far behind several larger Powerball states. Pennsylvania has had 20 Powerball jackpot winners since 2003, while California and Florida are tied with 17 each, New York has 13, and Indiana, Missouri and New Jersey each have 12.
Powerball winners since 2003
That spread matters because the report is not just ranking states; it is showing how uneven jackpot outcomes are over a long run of drawings. New Jersey had four of its 12 wins in March, Missouri’s luckiest month was November, and Indiana had two wins each in February, March, April, October and November.
Nationally, March and June each had 27 Powerball jackpot wins since 2003, while July had 14. Louisiana had 10 Powerball wins, with February, May and September as its luckiest months, and Wisconsin had nine wins, including three in March.
Texas and Pennsylvania disparity
Hunter also said, “What’s interesting is that some states have seen just one Powerball win since 2003, whereas Pennsylvania has seen 20 wins alone, showing the disparity of luck throughout the country.” The practical reading is straightforward: the monthly pattern looks uneven in the historical data, but it does not turn any one month into a better bet.
For Texas players, the clearest takeaway is narrower than a lucky-month claim. The state has three wins in the record, and all three came in February, May and September, while the broader U.S. data still leaves March, June and July as the standout months in the historical tally.
