County Airports staff are beginning to install new road signs along James L. Turnage Boulevard as the DJT airport rebrand moves toward Thursday’s official name change to President Donald J. Trump International Airport. The new signs will guide motorists approaching the terminal while the airport shifts to its new name in stages.

Paige Meyer reported that the new road signs are going up along Turnage Boulevard before the name change takes effect. She said the work follows new I-95 exit signs installed over the past week, which replaced PBI with the airport’s new name.
The next step on the ground is the roadway signage that drivers will see before they reach the terminal. The airport’s public-facing code will change later, on Aug. 18, when PBI is scheduled to become DJT in airline reservation systems and on passenger tickets.

The airport’s rebrand is moving in phases rather than all at once. Additional updates inside the terminal will bring new directional signs, baggage tags and other airport branding over the coming weeks, while the public-facing code change arrives separately on Aug. 18.
Airport officials say flights, security procedures and day-to-day operations will continue as normal throughout the transition. Flight operations are expected to remain unchanged even as the name on signs, tickets and reservation systems is updated.
Florida budget funding
The rebranding is supported by $2.75 million included in Florida’s state budget. For travelers, the immediate change is on the approach roads now, with terminal branding and the airline code change following on different timelines.
