Eric Trump gave The Palm Beach Post an exclusive tour of Trump Force One at President Donald J. Trump International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, on July 9, 2026. The visit put Donald Trump’s private Boeing 757 inside the airport that was formerly Palm Beach International Airport.

Trump Force One is the plane Donald Trump bought in February 2011 for about $100 million from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. The Boeing 757 has been upgraded with 24 karat gold-plated seatbelts, and Eric Trump described the aircraft during the visit as part of the family’s aviation history.

Trump Force One and Air Force One

Trump Force One was used by Trump before he became the 45th and 47th commander in chief. He also used it from 2021 to 2025 during President Joe Biden’s term, even though he flies aboard Air Force One while in office. That split use gives the plane a different role depending on whether Trump is a private citizen, a candidate or president.

In 2016, he used the Boeing 757 across the country and as a backdrop at airport-hangar rallies across the swing states. After he was sworn in as president in January 2017, he stopped using the aircraft and switched to Air Force One.

West Palm Beach landing

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, Trump Force One landed at the renamed airport in West Palm Beach, Florida. The same plane was parked at Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, on October 25, 2022, when it had a new paint job with TRUMP on the fuselage and an American flag on the tail.

Former President Trump later disembarked Trump Force One at Miami International Airport in Florida on June 12, 2023. The jet remains the one used by Trump, his immediate family and Trump Organization or campaign staff for political travel and high-profile trips.

Qatar and the 747

Trump Force One should not be confused with a Boeing 747 Air Force One plane gifted from Qatar on June 19, 2026. Trump accepted that Boeing 747 in May 2025 after criticizing Boeing for taking a long time to make new Air Force One planes.

Eric Trump’s tour tied the renamed airport to the plane most closely associated with Donald Trump’s travel history. The next public question is when the airport’s renaming will be formally completed and what prompted the decision.
