Grand Theft Auto Online will add The Kortz Center Heist on July 14. The new multi-stage job sends players into Kortz Center in northern Los Santos, with Rockstar Games setting the operation inside a mansion setup that turns planning into part of the score.

The update centers on paintings filled with Easter eggs from Rockstar Games’ biggest franchises, including Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption 2. One tease in particular gives the heist a collector’s feel, because the stolen art is not just loot; it is also the content players will spend time deciphering before launch.

Kortz Center in Pacific Bluffs

The Kortz Center Heist will let players rob the museum located in the hills of Pacific Bluffs. Players will steal paintings from the Kortz Center in northern Los Santos, then use the Art Studio in their mansion to get the job ready, which makes this more layered than a simple grab-and-go setup.

Rockstar described the heist as a multi-stage heist, and that structure is the real change for GTA Online players. Instead of a single entry point, the update builds in research at the Kortz Center before the theft itself, so the flow of the mission already points to more preparation and more moving parts than the usual one-off update drop.

Paintings and hidden references

Some of the paintings contain references to locations in Red Dead Redemption. Some point to one of the key moments in Grand Theft Auto IV, while others include unexpected cameos by characters from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption 2. Those references turn the update into a scavenger hunt before the heist even launches, and that is where the appeal sits for players tracking Rockstar’s internal continuity.

GTA Online is also getting this as its latest major update before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar has already set up ways for players to earn GTA$ toward the mansion cost, and the remaining details on cars, new stuff, and items are being held back until closer to launch.

July 14 is the date that matters, but the sharper question is which paintings map to which references once the update goes live. For now, the heist has already done enough to make the build-up part of the event itself.
