Emma Roberts remains part of American Horror Story Season 13, but Ariana Grande will not appear in the season after production-date changes collided with her Eternal Sunshine Tour. Grande had been expected to make her AHS debut, then made the exit plain with a blunt post: "Perfect timing for me to announce that I will also not be appearing in AHS Season 13."
American Horror Story Season 13 premieres on September 24, and Grande did not shoot any scenes for the new season. That turns a previously announced cast addition into a scheduling miss before the premiere window opens, with the season now moving forward without the singer in the lineup.
July schedule shifts first
At the end of June, Grande rescheduled select July concerts, then moved her July 12 stop at Brooklyn Barclays Center to July 14. She also shifted her July 22 and July 24 shows in Boston to July 23 and July 26, a sequence that shows how tightly the tour calendar was already running before AHS changes entered the picture.
On September 24, the season arrives with the cast still drawing attention. Previously announced names include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, John Waters and Leslie Grossman, while John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari and Matt Fraser are said to be returning as characters they have played in other AHS installments.
Exterior scenes and new faces
The cast was spotted shooting exterior scenes for the show, and two previously unannounced names were seen on set: Frances Conroy and Alex Consani. That gives the season a live production footprint even as the cast list is still being sorted in public view.
Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón and Joey Pollari are also set to make their franchise debuts in Season 13. The result is a roster that still carries the series’ long-running core, but no longer includes the singer whose debut had been part of the early expectation around the season.
Tour dates over screen time
Grande’s upcoming tour stops in New York, Canada, Chicago and London make the reason for the absence straightforward: the production-date changes put the show and the road on the same clock. For a season that was already drawing attention from exterior shoots and a familiar cast, the practical takeaway is simple — if you were expecting Grande in Season 13, she is out, and the premiere will go ahead without her.
