Philip Brave Davis said a small plane crash in North Andros in the Bahamas on Friday killed several people and left one survivor. Police notified him of the casualties, and the government moved to ground Flamingo Air flights while officials investigate the cause.

The crash happened in waters just west of Nassau. Davis wrote on X that he and his wife are praying for the families who are now facing unbearable grief. He added that they are also praying for the survivor, whose recovery and care will remain in their thoughts.
Flamingo Air certificate suspension
The Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Aviation temporarily suspended Flamingo Air’s air operator certificate as a precautionary safety measure. The ministry said the suspension followed two safety incidents on Friday, the same day as the crash. That leaves the carrier grounded while investigators sort through what happened and how the two events fit together.
Officials investigate the crash
For passengers, the immediate change is simple: Flamingo Air flights are on hold under the temporary suspension. For the families of those killed, the central question now is what the investigation will establish about the crash and whether the Friday safety incidents point to a wider operational problem. Officials are still examining the cause.
