Barnsley have signed Curacao defender Tyrese Noslin from Telstar for an undisclosed fee, with the 23-year-old agreeing a three-year contract at Oakwell that includes a club option for a further year.
The move gives Barnsley another defender with experience in the Dutch game, while Noslin arrives after establishing himself in the Eredivisie with Telstar and adding international experience with Curacao. He has been capped eight times and also represented his country at the 2026 World Cup, giving Barnsley a player who has already been tested in different environments.
Why Barnsley moved for Noslin
Daniel Stendel said the club had watched Noslin closely and believed he fits what they are looking for. Stendel also pointed to the defender's path through the Dutch game, saying he has gained valuable experience at a high level and shown he can perform consistently in demanding environments.
That combination of background and profile helps explain the appeal. Barnsley are not just adding a young defender with room to develop; they are bringing in a player who has already built a solid base in senior football and has been exposed to international competition as well.
What Noslin said about the move
Noslin said Barnsley's approach made a strong impression on him. He explained that they gave him the feeling they wanted him and made him feel special, and he now wants to prove that bringing him in was the right decision.
For Barnsley, the signing is a clear statement of intent for the defensive side of the squad. For Noslin, it is a chance to take the next step after his time with Telstar and continue building on the experience he has already collected for club and country.
