Playstation Plus Extra adds July Game Catalog titles, including Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers got a July PlayStation Plus Game Catalog update that added Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rise of the Ronin, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind. The rollout did not land everywhere at once: Rise of the Ronin arrived first in the US and the UK on July 15, then in Japan on July 16.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Firefighting Simulator: Ignite were available globally on July 21, and the full lineup was available to play on July 21 in all other regions. That staggered timing means subscribers in different markets saw the same monthly update open in stages, not as a single worldwide drop.

July PlayStation Plus Game Catalog

The July PlayStation Plus Game Catalog added a mix of established releases and a Power Rangers title. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person, action-adventure game set in the open world of the Western Frontier of Pandora. Rise of the Ronin is a combat-focused open-world action RPG from Team Ninja.

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite puts players in the boots of a U.S. firefighter in a sprawling city in the American Midwest. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a 2-D brawler for PS5 and PS4. For subscribers, the practical change is simple: the month’s catalog grew by several named titles, but not all at the same time.

Rise of the Ronin in the US

The staggered schedule mattered most for Rise of the Ronin, which became available before the rest of the July lineup in several markets. A subscriber in the US, the UK or Japan could start that game on July 15 or July 16, while other July additions still waited for July 21.

That sequencing also gives the month a split release pattern. The first wave was region-specific, then the broader July Game Catalog opened on July 21. Subscribers checking the service on those dates would see one title arrive early and the rest fill in later.

PlayStation Plus Premium additions

PlayStation Plus Premium also added Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy. Those titles sat alongside the July Game Catalog update, but they were listed separately from the main set of July additions.

For anyone deciding what to play first, the timing is the main detail to watch: Rise of the Ronin opened earlier in the US, the UK and Japan, while Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite and the rest of the July lineup came together on July 21. The remaining question is which additional titles were in the July PlayStation Plus Game Catalog beyond the names listed here.
