easyJet’s U22145 to Dalaman was due to leave at 3.50pm but did not depart until 5.40pm, a delay of 1 hour 50 minutes. Another easyJet flight to Geneva, scheduled for 11.10am, was pushed back by 1 hour 22 minutes.

easyJet and Ryanair delays

easyJet’s 4.40pm service to Enfidha was 43 minutes late. Ryanair’s 9am flight to Brussels Charleroi slipped by 25 minutes, while Ryanair departures to Rome Ciampino, Faro, Paris Beauvais and Krakow were each delayed by around 25 minutes.

A number of Jet2 and TUI flights to Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, Antalya and Paphos were running more than 20 minutes behind schedule. That left some travellers facing short hold-ups, while others saw much longer changes to their plans on the same day.

Virgin Atlantic and long delays

Virgin Atlantic’s flight from Atlanta, due to land at 8.50am, was delayed by 1 hour 46 minutes until 10.36am. IndiGo’s service from Mumbai and Ethiopian Airlines’ flight from Marseille were each 47 minutes late, while Corendon Airlines’ flight from Heraklion was delayed by 20 minutes.

The mix of brief delays and longer ones showed how a busy day at Manchester Airport can ripple across several routes at once. Small setbacks on one service can quickly spread through the day when aircraft are scheduled for multiple flights.

Scandinavian Airlines and Riyadh Air

Scandinavian Airlines cancelled its 9.35am departure from Manchester to Copenhagen, and its scheduled 8.55am arrival from Copenhagen was also cancelled. Riyadh Air’s 8.40am departure to Riyadh from Terminal 2 was cancelled as well.

Passengers with flights today needed to check status updates before setting off, especially on services from easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, TUI, Virgin Atlantic, IndiGo, Ethiopian Airlines, Corendon Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines and Riyadh Air. The open question for travellers is whether the day’s disruption stays limited to these services or spreads further across the schedule.
