Robert Downey Jr. Drives Avengers Doomsday Tickets Rush Ahead of July 20

Avengers Doomsday tickets are already drawing attention before advance sales open on Monday, July 20, 2026. Some theaters began adding showtimes for Infinity Vision screenings on July 17, and that early activity has fans bracing for the same kind of traffic spike that hit ticket sites around Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Robert Downey Jr. and the July 20 sale

July 20 is the date that matters for buyers: Avengers: Doomsday advance tickets are scheduled to go live then, with the film still set for theaters on December 18, 2026. The early listings give theaters a head start in showing what may be available, but they also push demand into the open before tickets can actually be purchased.

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are directing the film, with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth among the cast members named in the ticket chatter. That combination is enough to turn a routine on-sale into a traffic test for ticketing systems, especially when showtimes are appearing before the purchase window even opens.

Infinity Vision listings at Regal

@SavetheKND said, “man i am so nervous because what if either 1) the hollywood reporter article was a mistake and not real? 2) what if my theater (it has rpx) aint chosen for infinity vision and thus no tickets on monday? that would mean i put $200 in regal for nothing.” That kind of concern is practical, not theatrical: if a theater is not included in the Infinity Vision rollout, a buyer can be left waiting on a listing that never appears.

@HoodieDoom added, “Doesn't seem like its any theaters in NYC,” while @ankit_x wrote, “These platforms will crash within minutes on Monday.” @_RobJay put it more bluntly: “Trying to get Avengers Doomsday tickets when they first go live is gonna be absolute hell. All the apps are gonna crash.”

2019 crash fears return

2019 is the comparison fans keep reaching for because Avengers: Endgame early ticket demand pushed sites such as Fandango and AMC Theaters into crashes. That history is why the July 20 on-sale is being treated less like a normal rollout and more like a stress test for the systems carrying the demand.

Avengers Doomsday tickets should be bought as soon as the sale opens, not after the first wave of listings circulates. The real open question is whether every theater that starts posting showtimes will actually carry Infinity Vision on July 20, or whether some of those listings are just the first signal of a narrower rollout.
