Ivor Pandur said on RangersTV that three former Rangers players helped push him toward Rangers, after he moved from Hull City and was installed as the club’s new goalkeeper. The 26-year-old said the conversations came when the deal was close, and they left him with a clearer view of Ibrox.
John Lundstram and Kieran Dowell
Pandur said John Lundstram and Kieran Dowell told him he would never experience something like Rangers. He also said they described the club as one of the biggest you can sign for, which was enough to cut through any hesitation once the move was in reach.
“Even the guys who were here in the past, John Lundstram and Kieran Dowell who I played with last year, all said you’ll never experience something like it,” Pandur said. “They said it’s one of the biggest clubs that you can sign for, and that’s why I didn’t have much thinking to do.”
Antonio Colak and Croatia
Pandur said he also spoke to Antonio Colak before joining Rangers. The two played together for Croatia last year, and Colak was “full of praise for the club and the people,” which Pandur said he could already feel for himself.
That extra call matters because it shows how transfers into Rangers can run on trust as much as paperwork. When a move is close, endorsements from players who have already lived inside the dressing room can settle a decision faster than any public pitch.
Jack Butland’s departure
Pandur said he wanted trusted voices once he knew the deal “could be done,” even though he also said he did not have much thinking to do.
