Tom Curtis launches Burger King Whopper Guarantee with free remake

Tom Curtis and Burger King launched the Burger King Whopper Guarantee on Monday, giving guests a free remake if a Whopper does not meet expectations. The company also says the guest gets a complimentary Whopper on the next visit, turning a complaint into a second chance.

Burger King tied the policy to a feedback push that began about four months earlier, when Curtis shared his phone number and invited guests to contact him directly. The company said that effort brought in thousands of calls and texts, giving it a direct record of what customers said was going wrong.

Burger King said the Whopper Guarantee is launching with Your Way Champions, a new group of employees dedicated to customer needs rather than only restaurant operations. The company said they will serve as a clear point of contact during a visit, welcoming guests, double-checking orders, focusing on customization requests, and providing assistance.

The company described the two initiatives as a response to the moments guests said mattered most. Burger King said it is introducing “two new initiatives designed to improve the moments Guests told the brand matter most – providing a consistent, accurate and welcoming in-restaurant experience – by introducing Your Way Champions and the Whopper® Guarantee”.

Guests who want the later free burger will scan a QR code inside the Whopper box and receive a unique six-digit code for a free classic Whopper during a later Burger King visit. The remedy is built into the box itself, which means the redemption step begins at the counter, not after a separate complaint process.

Burger King also said, “Guests expect to have it served hot, and exactly the way they ordered it. That's why if a Whopper® doesn't meet a Guest's expectations, the brand will not only continue to remake it on the spot, but they'll offer the Guest's next Whopper for free”.

The policy gives guests two options when an order misses the mark: a remake right away or a later free Whopper after scanning the QR code. For customers, the practical step is simple — check the order in the restaurant, then keep the box if the order needs to be redeemed later.

The unresolved issue is where the new system will be available across Burger King restaurants, since the company’s announcement focused on the customer remedy and the new service team. What matters now is that the brand has tied order accuracy to a measurable offer, and guests have a clear path to use it the moment a Whopper falls short.
