Fulham FC has made one of its biggest off-field decisions of the summer by naming ClickHouse as its new principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the new Premier League season. The move is more than a simple commercial switch. It arrives at a moment when clubs are being forced to adjust to a changing sponsorship landscape, with the Premier League's voluntary ban on betting brands as front-of-shirt sponsors set to take effect in 2026-27.
That gives Fulham's announcement added significance. ClickHouse replaces SBOTOP on the club's shirt, making Fulham one of the last Premier League sides to confirm a main partner for the coming campaign. With less than a month before the new season kicks off, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and promoted Hull City were still without front-of-shirt partners, underlining how late some of these commercial decisions remain across the league.
A shift from betting to technology
ClickHouse is described as a Silicon Valley-based tech and AI firm with a $15bn valuation, which places it in a very different commercial category from the betting brands that have become a familiar presence on Premier League shirts. In that sense, Fulham's deal fits the broader direction of travel around the league, where clubs are gradually moving toward new types of commercial partners ahead of the 2026-27 ban window.
For Fulham, the announcement is also a signal about the club's ambitions beyond the pitch. Chief revenue officer Jon Don-Carolis said the club was delighted to welcome ClickHouse as a principal partner and front of shirt sponsor of the men's first team. He added that ClickHouse is an ambitious, fast-growing technology company and said the partnership reflects Fulham's commitment to innovation, progression and building meaningful connections with supporters around the world.
That language matters because sponsorships are rarely just about logos anymore. Clubs want partners that can be presented as part of a wider growth story, and ClickHouse clearly fits that brief. Aaron Katz said ClickHouse was thrilled to announce the strategic partnership with Fulham Football Club, pointing to shared values of high performance, ambition and excellence. He also drew a neat analogy between split-second decisions on the pitch and the millisecond decisions served by the company's database every moment for many of the world's most consequential companies.
What it means for Fulham
The practical point is simple: Fulham have replaced SBOTOP with a new front-of-shirt sponsor ahead of the Premier League season. The broader point is more interesting. As clubs adapt to the league's voluntary betting-brand ban timetable, the market is clearly shifting toward technology-led partnerships, and Fulham have moved early enough to avoid the uncertainty that is still hanging over several rivals.
That does not guarantee commercial success on its own, of course. A shirt sponsor is only one part of a club's financial picture, and supporters will mostly judge the season by what happens on the pitch. But this deal does show Fulham positioning themselves in step with the next phase of Premier League sponsorship, where the conversation is moving away from gambling and toward companies that want to sell scale, speed and innovation. In commercial terms, that is a useful place to be.
