Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were attending a building fire at Armathwaite Castle on Wednesday, July 22, after smoke prompted warnings for people nearby. Residents in the Armathwaite area were told to stay away from the scene and keep windows and doors closed.
