Justine Sterling wrote that Taco Bell new items had arrived in the form of two $3 Pepper Jack Steak Burritos on the Luxe Value Menu. The Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito and the Fresca Pepper Jack Steak Burrito were in the app before they reached restaurants.
The Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito comes with grilled marinated steak, seasoned rice, a three-cheese blend, crispy red strips, and creamy Pepper Jack Sauce in a warm flour tortilla. The Fresca Pepper Jack Steak Burrito pairs grilled marinated steak, cheese, lettuce, fiesta strips, tomatoes, and spicy ranch.
Justine Sterling on Taco Bell
Sterling wrote on June 23, 2023, that the burritos would reach participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide on July 23rd. That put a fixed timeline on the rollout: customers could test them through the app first, then order them in restaurants on the later date.
The app-first release fits a menu launch that is meant to move quickly from preview to store shelves. For a customer deciding whether to wait, the practical choice was simple: use the app now or buy them in restaurants once July 23rd arrived.
Pepper Jack Sauce in Taco Bell
Sterling also said Taco Bell customers could add Pepper Jack Sauce to almost any menu item. She wrote, “The creamy, slightly spicy sauce isn’t limited to the new burritos.”
That leaves one wrinkle in the story. The sauce was presented as new or possibly returned, which makes its status less clear than the burritos themselves. Sterling added that one Reddit user said they also added the Pepper Jack Sauce to a chicken quesadilla and it was delicious, and the early reactions were already pretty positive.
For customers, the immediate takeaway was the price and the timing: two Pepper Jack Steak Burritos, both at $3, with app access before the restaurant launch and the sauce available as an add-on across much of the menu.
